Chapter 11 - FAQs

  1. SCAMQuestion: I got an invite from one of my friends saying I should join the "Join and get 500 Godfather points instantly group" in Facebook. Should I join it? Will I get 500 GF points?

Answer: Free 500 (replace 500 with whatever number you want) Godfather points if you join this Facebook group: It's a lie, a scam, whatever you want to call it. All these groups are fake; unless it is actually inside the Mafia Wars game or from the official Zynga (the people who make and run Mafia Wars) site. Think about it; Zynga makes money by selling Godfather points and/or by convincing you to buy a product/service from one of their affiliates; which in turn makes them money. WHY ON EARTH would they team up with some no-name/scam-artist loser on Facebook and allow them to simply "give-out" 500 (or whatever amount) of these points to random users that join their groups? That would destroy Zynga's business, and Mafia Wars would probably turn to dust in a few weeks due to the cost of running the whole thing! Adding to this main point: I HAVE NEVER seen anyone transfer Godfather points to anyone else’s account in Mafia Wars. This feature does not exist unless you work for Zynga, mainly for the fact that: again, this would probably destroy Zynga's business model. So why do they do it? These groups are targeting you to help them grow for financial reasons (pimping and etc), and/or possibly trying to gain access to your private information. Do yourself a favor and not join. Or better yet, tell everyone else in your mafia, that it is a SCAM and to un-join these groups if they did join.

  2. Question: What about Facebook groups that promise me they will give me 501 TNT's, Track Loaders (etc, etc of whatever high end loot)?

    Answer:
Same as the Godfather point scams, I have yet to see any of these groups live up to their promise. Until I do, I call them all scams!

  3. Question: What is the red coat and how do I get one?

    Answer:
The Red coat was a special loot item for the 4th of July (2009). It is one of the more sought after armor items (it has a high defense rating), since it is transferable (unlike most special loot from a holiday). You could probably trade for large quantities of other high end loot, if you are fortunate enough to have more than one red coat. I have seen some trade 200 high end loot item for 1 red coat.

  4. Ice PickQuestion: What is the difference between Iced and Killed your opponent?

    Answer:
What does "You iced your opponent mean"? It means you attacked him/her (it can be multiple times of course, but the most significant attack was the last one), and at that moment, you did enough damage to that person to send their "health meter" below 20. What does "You killed your opponent..." mean? It means you attacked him/her (it can be multiple times of course, but the most significant attack was the last one), and at that moment you did enough damage to that person to send their "health meter" all the way to 0. It has to be all the way to 0 to be killed. Hence when you are on the Hitlist, your health meter goes all the way to zero if you are too weak and get attacked multiple times.
